Our Journey to Pure Nilgiris Honey

Our journey began not as a business idea, but as a personal need.

In the COVID days, we shifted back to our native place, Gudalur in the Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu, from Bangalore. While we had our little child to take care of, we found it very hard to get genuine or unadulterated honey to use in our daily uses.

We connected with local Tribal Honey collectors in the Nilgiris who have been harbvesting wild honey for generations.

And that concern slowly became our purpose.

We are a small-scale family-based project, prioritizing quality over quantity. Our supply of honey is based on the season of the year, the flowering of the forests, as well as the bees themselves. So, the honey is varied, yet the quality is never compromised.

Nilgiris Mountain Honey was thus born out of the demand for authentic unifloral honey and general unawareness about honey and other apiculture products as a health elixir. The absence of quality honey offerings in the market place encouraged us to introduce a product that offers purity and taste unparalleled, while propagating better health and well-being for our customers. At Nilgiris Mountain Honey, we are proud to offer finest, raw honey that represents the full natural richness of the Nilgiris region. Every jar reflects our care for quality, sustainability, and community support, assuring that our honey not only nourishes but elevates the life of our consumer. Bringing the goodness of honey to you is both a privilege and a responsibility we cherish deeply.

Frequently asked questions

Why is your honey priced higher than market honey?

Our honey is raw, unheated, and unprocessed, collected from Nilgiris forest regions in limited quantities.
Most market honey is heated, blended, or diluted.
Pure forest honey is rare — and rarity has its value.

Why don’t you sell at cheaper rates like other brands?

We do not compete with commercial honey brands.
We focus on honesty, quality, and trust, not mass production or price wars.

Pure honey cannot be produced cheaply without compromise.

Is this honey really worth the price?

Yes. You are paying for:
• Original forest source
• No heating or processing
• Lab-tested purity
• Low moisture content
• Limited seasonal harvest

Once you taste real honey, the difference is clear.

Why is there a price difference between pack sizes?

Smaller packs are priced slightly higher per gram to:
• Cover handling and packaging costs
• Allow first-time customers to try without risk

Larger packs offer better value for regular users.

Do you offer discounts?

We do not reduce the price of pure honey.
Instead, we add value:
• Extra grams
• Free honey dipper
• Lab report access
• Priority packing

Quality should never be discounted.

How can I be sure this honey is genuine?

We provide:
✔ Lab test reports
✔ Harvest details
✔ Source transparency
✔ Direct communication with us

We believe trust is built through clarity, not claims.

Why is your honey more expensive than local honey sellers?

Local sellers may mix or heat honey unknowingly.
Our honey is carefully handled, tested, and preserved in its natural form — which increases cost but protects quality.

Which pack should I try first?

If you’re new:
👉 200g is the best place to start
👉 250g is ideal for families

Most repeat customers move to 500g or 1kg.

Is this honey available all year?

No.
Our honey is seasonal and limited, depending on forest flowering cycles.
Once stock is over, we wait for the next harvest.

Why don’t you lower the price for bulk orders?

Bulk orders require careful storage and handling.
We prefer fair, stable pricing rather than compromising quality for volume.
