Mudumalai Tiger Reserve lies at the convergence of three states — Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala — in the Nilgiri Hills. It is one of India’s most biodiverse forests, home to elephants, leopards, and hundreds of flowering plant species. The honey produced here is unlike anything sourced from managed farmlands.
The bees of Mudumalai are wild. They gather nectar from medicinal forest plants — neem, mahua, wild turmeric, forest hibiscus, bamboo flowers — creating a honey that carries the full therapeutic weight of the forest in every spoonful.
Our tribal partners from the indigenous communities of Mudumalai have harvested this honey for generations. They know the forest’s rhythms — which cliffs the bees favour in summer, which trees hold the largest hives after the monsoon, and how to harvest without harming a single colony. No chemicals. No smoke damage. No disruption to the ecosystem.
Each jar of Mudumalai Forest Honey is traceable to its source. Scan the QR code on your jar or visit our Trace Your Honey page to see exactly where your honey came from.

Where Does It Come From?
Mudumalai is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, one of India's most important biodiversity regions, located where Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka meet. The area is home to dense forests, native flowering plants, wildlife, and wild bee populations that have thrived here for generations.
How Is It Collected?
Wild honey collection has been practised in the Nilgiris for centuries by indigenous (Kurumba, Paniya, and Kattunayakan) forest communities who possess deep knowledge of bee behaviour, flowering seasons, and the forest ecosystem.
Honey collectors carefully locate wild bee colonies, harvest mature honeycombs, and collect honey using traditional methods passed down through generations. The process depends entirely on nature, seasonal flowering, and the health of the forest.
